This bag is an unexpected gem that I scooped up on one of my visits to see my mom in Detroit, MI. Have you ever gone second hand shopping there? If you haven’t, you should because it’s a gold mine. Let’s just say it’s one of the perks of visiting my mom in the midwest.
The combo of black and brown used in my purse and in the stones of this fabulous necklace (a gift from my Aunt Elizabeth) inspired this little ensemble. I think the key to combining these two staple neutrals comes in finding the right shade of brown. I went with a rich amber brown and instead of simply blending into the ensemble like a typical neutral, it actually pops against the black; making it look saturated and exciting. I guess I’ll have to try my hand at combining navy with black sometime soon.
