<Dress: Hill Vintage and Knits, Vintage Bracelet: Senior Citizens Flea Market, Boots: thrifted in L.A, Vintage Earrings: Pasadena Antique Center>
You will all be proud to know that I finally got it together enough to have a photo shoot in Des Moines. I had my lovely ”beyonce” (husband elect) John, snap some photos of me wearing newly acquired Iowa thrifts and vintage dresses. Today was all about black and how to make it look less serious. This particular look is a cute little number from a local Vintage store new to Des Moines’ East Village, called Hill Vintage & Knits. This totally rad shop is owned by local lovelies Jessica Miller and Erica Carnes. This crafty pair started selling vintage out of a sweet trailer around the city as well as on Etsy. Eventually they found a perfect location on 432 E. Locust and set up shop. On their opening night I went to check the place out and ended up picking up this gem as well as a few others.
I adore this dress because it fits so beautifully due to the waist seam and the bias cut rayon. I also dig the nifty little neck detail that makes it feel more casual. I am loving the mix of brown and black together and could easily shift this frock from day to night in a jiffy. The bracelet is from a senior citizens flea market I just hit up in Boone Iowa. John and I went camping for is 28th birthday and when we weren’t busy drinking whisky by an campfire and fending off aggro raccoons, we were checking out the local flea markets and the like. But Seriously those raccoons were no joke, they stole 2 of our brats when we left the campsite for about 5 minutes and continued to stalk us with their freakish disco ball eyes the entire night!
